The fruit for this Merlot comes from the Darms Lane Vineyard, which is situated on a steep South-West facing slope in the Yountville appellation of Napa Valley. This is a highly prized vineyard and we are privileged to receive a few tons from it. In order to give the wine added structure, we blended in a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Arger Vineyard on Atlas Peak. The wine was aged for 22 months in oak barrels. 50% of the oak was new fine grain French oak. The result is a Merlot with depth and richness.

Tasting Notes:

There are aromas of dried fruit, berries, violets and toasted oak. The palate is rich and soft with deep red fruit flavors of plum, black, cherry, and boysenberry with a hint of black olive. Dense, round fruitiness carries on in the finish with hints of chocolate and roasted nuts.
