This is an extremely small production wine of Cabernet Franc blended with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is made from 100% estate grown fruit from a vineyard that is located between Dry Creek and our Barrel Room. The vineyard is warm during the day but cools down significantly at night, perfect for this varietal. This vineyard’s location and terroir imparts classic Cabernet Franc aromas of violet and perfume along with underlying peppery and herbal flavors.
On the nose the cherry aromas dance with perfume, violets and toasty oak. The more you indulge the wine, the deeper and more intriguing the aromas become, yielding darker berries and soft leather. The entry and mid-palate display beautiful fruit flavors of sweet dark cherry and plum blended with darker spicy, herbal and toasted oak flavors. This wine is at once vibrant and refreshing while being deeply satisfying. Pair with hard cheeses, grilled lamb chops, or pizza with wild mushroom and caramelized onion.
