The majority wine for the 2012 Silenus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our estate vineyard located in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. This is a very special location adjacent to Dry Creek and the vineyard has a very long history of producing extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon. From the 1970’s through the early 2000’s a portion of the vineyard was sold to Robert Mondavi and used in his Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Mr. Mondavi would personally visit each year to inspect and review the vineyard.

Tasting Notes:

As is typical for the vineyard, the wine has exceptional dark red to purple color. Berries, plum and cedar jump out on the nose. The wine is soft, silky and lush on the palate with almost chalky tannins. Flavors of raspberry, fig, cherry and chocolate mousse dominate. The finish is smooth and satisfying. An excellent wine to pair with filet mignon or rich creamy cheeses.
