The 2013 Riesling is the inaugural release for this exciting new addition to the Silenus family of wines. The Riesling grapes come from the Canyon Ranch Vineyard located at the Southeast end of the Napa Valley. The fruit was hand harvested in the early morning hours to ensure it was cold on arrival at the winery. The clusters were transferred directly to the press and gently whole-cluster pressed into a chilled stainless steel tank. After 2 days the juice was racked off the solids to another small stainless steel tank for fermentation at 58° F (14°C). After fermentation the wine was racked again and blended with a touch of Muscat Canelli wine.

Tasting Notes:

The wine has a crystal clear, pale-golden color. There are aromas orange blossoms, honeysuckle and lychee fruit with faint notes of clove. The palate includes flavors of bright stone fruit, green apple, and lime. The finish is fresh and juicy.
