Year in and year out the very best Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the block of our Oak Knoll District estate vineyard surrounding the winery. The block is planted on an ancient riverbed where the soils are gravelly and well drained resulting in very deep, rich fruit flavors. The entire vineyard produces truly outstanding grapes, but we like to show off this particular block by bottling a portion separately as our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2019 vintage reserve blend was barrel fermented which allows the oak to be integrated and layered elegantly in the wine. The same barrels were then used to age the wine for 28 months prior to bottling. The barrel mix was 80% new French oak and 10% new American oak.

Tasting Notes:

Vibrant ruby red and dark velvet colors are paired with aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, cherry, and plum with hints of vanilla. This is a rich, balanced and supple wine with flavors of black cherry, black currant and red plum. Blackberry and dark fruit flavors linger and engulf the mid-palate. Soft, silky tannins grip and then release gracefully on the finish. Pair with red meats or enjoy with light cheese to really savor the flavors of the wine.
