Our Pinot Noir comes from the Char Vale vineyard, a unique vineyard in the heart of the Green Valley in the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County.

The Green Valley is one of the smallest appellations in Sonoma County. It lies in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley, bounded by the towns of Sebastopol, Forestville and Occidental. It is very tightly delineated, both geographically and climatically, and is the most consistent of any North Coast appellation in terms of soil, climate and flavor.

The fog is Green Valley’s trademark. The predominant soil type (60%) of this American Viticultural Area (AVA) is Goldridge soil, the most sought-after type in Sonoma County—especially for Pinot Noir. Green Valley wines share a distinctive flair.

The Char Vale vineyard was planted in the mid-nineties using the Martini clone and is meticulously farmed to produce elegant, food-friendly wines.

Tasting Notes:

Our Pinot Noir opens with a bright red and black cherry nose that leads to pomegranate and currant undertones with a touch of tannins. The palate of our Pinot Noir is well balanced between ripened red fruit and a hint of cherry cola and bright acidity leading to a lingering and refined finish. This wine is well suited alongside an assortment of cheeses or a well-crafted charcuterie board.
