Year in and year out the very best Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the block of our estate vineyard surrounding the winery. The block is planted on an ancient riverbed so the soils are more gravelly and well drained, which results in very deep, rich fruit flavors. The entire vineyard is fabulous, but we like to show off this particular block by bottling a portion separately as our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2016 vintage reserve blend came from 4 barrels of the Clone 337 block, 3 barrels of Clone 15 block, and 2 barrels from Clone 4 block.
Deep ruby red and soft velvet colors are paired with aromas of plum, black cherry, vanilla and baking spices. This is a rich, soft and elegant wine with flavors of plum, boysenberry, stewed fruit and cocoa. The fruit compote flavors linger and engulf the mid-palate. Soft, lush tannins grip and then release gracefully on the finish. Pair with red meats or enjoy with light cheese to really savor the flavors of the wine.
